Mustang V6 3.7L Ti-VCT

305 horses and a class-best* 6.4L/100 km hwy.** No other vehicle beats that combo.† The all-new, 3.7L aluminum engine boasts dual-overhead cams and Ti-VCT (Twin independent Variable Camshaft Timing).

The end result is as much as a 3 percent improvement in fuel economy and a 10 percent improvement in power output versus traditional engines without these advanced features.

Engineers also worked to ensure that aggressive, high-performance sounds come from the new engine, from intake to exhaust. Not only does the retuned air intake system minimise losses, it also provides the driver with a satisfying intake rush on hard acceleration. The all-new dual exhaust system is mellow at idle but opens up with a howl at full tilt, letting Mustang drivers know they're behind the wheel of a world-class sports coupe.

Transmission
You'll get the most out of Mustang's new engines with either the all-new standard six-speed manual gearbox or the available six-speed automatic transmission. Both come with the flexibility and fuel economy benefits of six forward ratios. The manual gearbox delivers short throws and direct feel of the shifter along with the relaxed cruising permitted by the extra top gear ratio. Prefer to let Mustang do the shifting for you? You won't be disappointed. The available automatic six-speed transmission is not only convenient, but provides optimised fuel economy with crisp, quick shifts that maximise torque and horsepower. The automatic transmission also features a "hill mode" to improve drivability on hilly terrain.

EPAS
The addition of Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) marks a new era in driving dynamics for Mustang owners. Steering effort at parking lot speeds is reduced, while high-speed and highway feel is improved for more precise steering and handling. EPAS provides a quieter vehicle with fewer components drawing engine power. EPAS also enables new technologies that adjust for minor driving annoyances. Pull-Drift Compensation adjusts the steering to correct for crosswinds and minor road crowning, while Active Nibble Control helps eliminate the "shimmy" felt at high speeds when a wheel is out of balance or a brake rotor is warped. Both conditions are alleviated by EPAS independent of driver input, helping ensure Mustang delivers a smooth, comfortable driving experience in all conditions.

Mustang GT - The Beast is Back

Mustang GT pounds the pavement with an advanced, all-new take on the 5.0L V8. Mod 5.0 graphics debuted on the hood scoop of a 1978 Mustang II King Cobra. The actual 5.0 badge of honour made its first appearance the following model year, creating a loyal legion of fans in the process. 1995 models – cresting at 300 hp – were last to flaunt the big 5.0. Until now. This baby kicks and screams like the day it was born.

5.0L Ti-VCT V8
The all-new 5.0L V8 raises desire tenfold. Especially its pulse-popping, 412 hp and 390 ft.-lb. of torque. Redline pushed to 7,000 rpm. Speed bumped to 260 km/h. Compression ratio formulated to 11:1. At the same time, fuel economy is projected to be better than the previous model – up to 7.6L/100km hwy.* As with Mustang V6, a critical element in the 5.0-liter V8's ability to deliver 412 horsepower is enhanced Ti-VCT – delivering improved drivability, tractability, and fuel economy over the 2010 Mustang GT powertrain.

Limited-slip Differential
Like the Mustang V6, the GT features a standard limited-slip differential that provides better handling and more surefooted grip in poor weather conditions by directing engine torque to the rear wheel with the most traction. The GT offers a 3.55:1 gear ratio on manual transmission models and a 3.15:1 ratio with automatic transmission. GT Coupe with manual transmission also offers an available 3.73:1 limited-slip rear axle ratio.
